Doctor Dan L. Waitzberg graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of USP (1974), Master’s degree from the University of São Paulo (1981) and Doctorate from the University of São Paulo (1986). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, Chief Executive Officer of the Human Nutrition Group and Scientific Director of Bioma4me. He has experience in Medicine, with emphasis on Surgery, acting on the following topics: Nutrition, Gastric Bypass, Body Mass Index, Morbid Obesity and Parenteral Nutrition.

In January 2014, he received the Physician Distinction Award from the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition – ASPEN, in Savannah, USA.

In January 2015, he gave the Jonathan Rhoads lecture at the ASPEN Congress in the USA.
